There are basically three types of stamps:
Wood Mounted: A high quality red rubber stamp mounted to a hardwood block. Excellent image transfer.
Cling Mounted: these stamps are really nice. They have the quality of the red rubber but the versatility of easily seeing where the image is being placed.
They are more easily stored because they don't have the large wood block attached to them.
They are presented on a clear acrylic sheet. You peel them off and place them on a clear acrylic block for transferring the image.
Clear stamps: these don't usually have the same quality image transfer as the red rubber stamps but are a economical choice for those who want a lot of images with the least investment. |
There are basically three types of ink
Dye Ink: This is ink that is similar to the kind of ink you find on a felt pad at the office supply store with the exception that Lilly's Art only carries the archival quality dye inks. In scrapbooking and card making using quality ink like this is encouraged because you want the crafts you created to last a lifetime for sharing with others.
Pigment ink: these inks are known for their archival quality and 'wetter' properties. They are especially useful for embossing techniques because the embossing powders stick better to the wetter ink.
Crafting Ink: This ink is used for paper crafts as well as for adhering to surfaces other than paper.
